Yesterday was my 150th consecutive day of posting to this site – or roughly 5/12 of the way through. The other day someone asked me how I was able to keep these posts going; the first answer is the one I gave yesterday about ‘heartbeat’, the second is that I know they have a definite end-date.
“Yesterday and Today” will see it’s last post on 31st December.
But there’s a great deal to be done between now and then!
Good progress on my three current projects yesterday. Firstly, not only a full run-through of Crash but some supplementary reading of one of the later sections with which I am not yet entirely comfortable. Secondly more Alma Road editing. This is going well, and I’m finding that I am embellishing a little as I go along – which is a tad unusual for me. I’ve probably added around 150 words thus far during this round of editing, and which I expect to be finished in the next two or three days. And thirdly, I have shaped the plot points for ‘Z’ in such a way that the scaffolding is now more or less complete.
Having an uncluttered day ahead of me, I think I can be confident that today‘s pattern will follow that of yesterday. Although the lack of variation might sound dull, there can be a certain degree of comfort to be taken from knowing what one’s workload looks like.
And a confession. After not the Sonnets – and based on a throwaway comment someone made to me last year – I’m toying with the idea of working up some kind of ‘interpretation’ of one of Shakespeare’s plays. Just a notion I have simmering away – and one which may cool to nothing. I’ve no idea what the format would be, nor which play; all I’m saying is, don’t be surprised…
