Yesterday & Today: 30th June

It was our monthly Contextual virtual poetry reading event yesterday, the nineteenth since November 2021. Every time I think about the number of meetings we’ve had, and the group’s longevity, I’m amazed.

And I think I can call it a ‘group’ now given we have a loyal band of poets from which each month at least twenty rock-up to listen to some super work. And yesterday was no different.

So thanks go out to Kate, Richard and Carol for entertaining us last night. And also to a small number of new people who came to try us out for size.

Apart from that, I spent some time working on ‘Z’ as well as pre-processing more submissions for New Contexts: 5. There are over 160 pieces on offer now, so I’ll be busy going through those next month!

So ‘Z’ and NC:5 will dominate today. I also need to give some thought as to what meetings I’ll be hosting in late-July/August given our (hopefully) impending house move. July might be safe, August less so.
