It’s funny how, when reading anthology submissions, they seem to go in ‘waves’: three or four good, then three or four not so good. That’s was how the process seemed to go yesterday as I made my way through the poems beginning ‘L’ and ‘M’.
And I can’t help but wonder if there is someone reading this who submitted something titled between ‘A’ and ‘M’, and are wondering into which ‘bucket’ their poem fell. It would be only natural after all…
Once I have completed the submission process and settled on the final list for inclusion, that’s when people find out. Hopefully not too long to wait…
I also managed a small amount of ‘Z’ yesterday – though doing so again today will be a much harder feat as I’m going to be out virtually all day. In fact I’m expecting almost zero work today which, under the circumstances, is fine.
There’s a very good reason why they say house buying is one of the most stressful things you can do; isn’t it up there with getting married, changing jobs, and having a baby? We still wait for reality to hit home at the bottom of our very short chain; they currently seem to think you can magic a three-day removal with a day’s notice when currently removal firms need 2 to 4 weeks’ notice minimum… Only when the penny drops will be get anywhere near a firm date.
Stress? You said it…
