
I don’t really know what to say. One meagre paragraph of ‘Z’ is hardly a stellar return, but that was all I managed yesterday.
I do have the excuse that the day was astonishingly stressful as we tried to force through the exchange of contracts on the chain in which our house move sits. Some real brinkmanship involved. It’s dreadful when you are powerless against so-called professionals who – when they are supposed to be working for you – seem to do what they please.
We have no issue with our own estate agent and solicitor, but if anyone is planning a move in Leeds, Yorkshire, any time soon, I can let you have as estate agent and solicitor to steer clear of…
Enough said. Apparently it will ‘definitely’ be Monday – and our target physical move date is unaffected.
Today? Well, no sooner has Wimbledon finished than the women’s world cup starts. How’s a sports-loving writer supposed to deal with that? Answer: by watching it – especially when applying focus to anything else all the while you’re waiting for the phone to ring is difficult…
I’m aiming for New Contexts: 5 publication mid- to late-August, so will start chasing the small number of outstanding bios next week, then order the proof copy to review. That one will get over the line – and without any dramas!
