Putting pen to paper – w/c 18th September

Time to look back / forward. How did I get on last week?

  • Meetings and Events –
    • A ‘Cafe Writers’ book launch and open mic – YES
    • September’s Derby ‘Stanza’ meeting – YES
    • attending a local poetry group – YES, but the ‘group’ proved to be just me and the organiser!
    • being interviewed for a slot on a Californian-based podcast – YES (interview will air on New Year’s Eve)
    • attending my first session of a monthly creative writing group (in Lincoln) – YES
  • Writing projects –
    • continue the final revisions of 17 Alma Road – YES
    • final edit of a short story – His small existence – YES
    • initial drafting of two short stories – YES
    • seeing if I can get any further in drafting the beginning of a slightly futuristic/dystopian story (let’s call it “V”) – NO
    • trying to work on some new poems – NO
  • Coverstory books –
  • Sundries –
    • defining my mentoring programme for the remainder of the year – NO (though this one was out of my control)

So nine out of twelve, or 75%. I think that’s a pretty fair attempt.

So, in terms of writing-related events and writing itself, what does the next week hold?
