Does it matter when in the day you post?

I used to think the answer to that question was ‘No’. From the point of view of principle, I argued with myself that it shouldn’t matter; that a post – if it were good enough – would get the ‘reads’ whenever you posted it.

But I’m not sure that’s true.

Especially if you live in the UK.

Now I’m an early-morning kind of person, so have been known to post early. And often these posts are the ones that don’t do so well. Why? I think maybe because America is asleep. A huge proportion of WordPress’ readers and contributors are from the US; if you post in the middle of the night, you runs the risk of your little gem getting lost in the flotsam and jetsam of the early morning skim.

So I’m writing this in my morning, before I head off to work – but am going to delay the post until my American friends are tucking into their waffles and French toast!

Let’s see what happens…
