After a little bit of a false start last week, I am pleased to have been able to read yesterday evening at Fountains Abbey’s regular October event, ‘Fountains by Floodlight‘. The event takes place each Saturday during October, and also includes the final two Fridays as well. Tickets are selling fast!
In addition to spectacular lighting, special tours and music, there will be a number of local writers who will be reading their work in the Abbey’s Lavatorium Warming Room around 20:15.
My own piece, specially written for the event, was a short story which I read along with a couple of poems. The reading lasted about 15-20 minutes. I’m hoping it went down well enough for the National Trust to invite me back for subsequent evenings!
