Yesterday was one of those days which will perhaps be easy to summarise on paper yet will also live on in the memory much longer.
As far as the bones of the retreat went, I ran my “Character Building” workshop and help a couple of 1-2-1s – all of which we enjoyable and, I hope, constructive for the participants.
However, in the evening – without a defined ‘activity’ for the group – I volunteered to read Crash, a three-month early rehearsal just to see how it felt and to get feedback from, and perform in front of, a live audience. It seemed to go well, and there was some great input afterwards in terms of one or two suggestions that will really help. Perhaps the greatest take-away is likely to be the removal of fear: I’ve done it in front of some people now, so why should June hold any more terrors? Fewer now, probably.
In addition to all that I managed to get a little drafting of “C” under my belt, and some more reviewing of Tilt.
If there’s more of the same today it’s in that I have three 1-2-1s and am running workshops on “Dialogue & Monologue” and “Planning”. Plus I have some ‘homework’ in terms of reading something for one of the delegates. So a pretty full-on day to finish the retreat.
