Although these posts create a kind of ‘heartbeat’ for the day, it’s hard for me to know just how interesting people find them or how much seeing inside the heart of my writing journey may be appreciated.
The only measure I really have is visitor stats from WordPress.
So how’s this? As individual months, both January and March saw more hits on my website than in the entirety of 2022… By May, I will have just under 5 times the number of hits from last year.
When you break the numbers down, the same is pretty much true of likes, and obviously the number of posts is being increased by an even larger factor. At the mercenary level, what I really need this to translate to is books sales, of course – and thus far the numbers are a little disappointing…
But I’ll keep plugging away, striving to hit that right note – or grab that one piece of luck – which will make all the difference.
With that in mind, I suspect today will be very much like yesterday: a run-through of Crash first thing, then at various stages work on Alma Road and ‘Z’. Editing the former is going well. I expect I will go through the process again in July (time permitting) and then in September too. After that, reviewer and agent time.
