Yesterday & Today: 11th June

Crash SOLD OUT!

There were even people queueing for returns and no-shows!

Where else can I start when talking about yesterday?

The venue – small and intimate – was perfect for the show. I had been worried that my voice wouldn’t carry, but it turned out just fine.

I had also been worried that hardly anyone would turn up…!

Very nervous at the start, I began to relax into it after a while, and once I’d found my stride I think it was okay. Tremendously generous round of applause at the end, and some people came up and said some really nice things about the work and the performance. One person even suggested that I should take Crash to the Edinburgh Fringe! I even sold a few books…

Walking home afterwards was a little strange: there was the high from the performance versus the knowing that the thing I’d been living with for the last five months was now over. It will be interesting how that latter feeling manifests itself over the next few days.

Which starts with today, of course.

Having to find something else to focus on, it has to be 17 Alma Road. I need to complete my edit and then get it out to potential agents and advance copy readers (any takers?) by the end of the week. That seems a reasonable goal.

Once I have done that I really will have cleared the decks! I won’t have a firm ‘live’ project on the go. So, expect some naval-gazing in a few days…!
