Yesterday morning I managed to get a little work done on Tilt revision and “C” before heading off to the retreat in Beal.
There are six attendees here, primarily writers of fiction both long- and short-form. Over the next three days we will have a number of 1-2-1s and probably four workshops.
We’ll start today with “You as Writer” – a foundation workshop really, and perhaps my favourite – and then follow that will “Character Building”, “Dialogue & Monologue”, and squeezing in “Planning” along the way.
The first and last days tend to by the busiest with 1-2-1s alongside the workshops, and this evening after dinner is my turn to read to our guests – I just need to choose what to offer them. Probably a mix of poetry and prose.
I should get a little time to work during the afternoon; that may end up being small scale activity, but we’ll see how it goes.
