Yesterday was something of a ‘red letter’ day given it was the first time I’ve ever held a book launch. Thanks to the magic of Zoom, I was able to spend an hour reading from and talking about the four books I have just published. I enjoyed the experience enormously, particularly the questions. And I am grateful for those who turned up for the event; I think they enjoyed the hour.
Makes me want to see if I can arrange something locally in person…
So, as a final piece of PR here, these are the books I read from last night (click on the cover to be taken to the website page for each book).
What else did I do yesterday? Well, a read-through of Crash at home before a short rehearsal with Andy; he’s very confident that I’m ready for the 10th June! One or two more sessions with him between now and then – and lots of at-home revision!
I also pent a fair amount of time working on the plot points for ‘Z’. This involves getting them into some kind of narrative sequence to see if I can find a ‘flow’ for the story – as well as identify all those incidents that are missing! Some way to go on this yet.
As it’s ‘busy Tuesday’, today will find me in the library this morning and then at ‘Write-on Ripon’ after lunch. I intend to spend some of the former time starting on the edit for ‘C’ – which I can now reveal will be called “17 Alma Road” and is likely to be out early in 2024.
