The retreat at which I’m now mentoring kicked-off in pretty standard fashion yesterday – apart from a little local ‘colour’ which doesn’t really warrant any further explanation here, but one day has to make it into a story!
As usual, there are a variety of writers here who I’ll be getting to know over the next two days.
I did manage to get a chunk of “C” drafting done before last night’s dinner – and even drafted a short poem (the first non-Haiku piece for many days).
At the retreat today I’ll be running two workshops: one on Character Building, and one on Found Poetry. These will be in addition to a number of 1-2-1 sessions (thought I don’t know how many yet). After dinner this evening I’ll be reading to the attendees for a short while; probably a short story and two or three poems.
The pattern of workshops and 1-2-1s will be repeated tomorrow, with me trying to find a slice of time – and the energy! – to fit in a little writing of my own in the gaps.
